Jakeel Consulting Inc., a business solution providing firm offering companies and federal agencies consulting services in the area of business and accounting, human resources, software integration, network and information technology and corporate finance today has announced the hiring of Mr. Derrick A. Butts as Director of Secure Business Solutions. “I am excited about Derrick joining our team to help offer our customer business continuity strategies and secure infrastructure solutions to help them in their business. This is a nice addition to Jakeel as we continue to grow with our customer base and services offering,” says CEO Jamie Valentine.

Mr. Butts is responsible for attracting new customers for Jakeel. Furthermore, he is responsible for working with client’s business continuity planning and strategies in addition to understand their business needs and help provide the best secure infrastructure solution. He will provide new business sales, lunch and learn forums with Jakeel business partners, and innovative solutions to help solve our customer specific business challenges. He will primarily focus on:

• New Business Sales: Mr. Butts will work with organization’s business executives and IT managers to understand business challenges and priorities. He will formulate appropriate business solutions by combining 3rd-party Applications, Technology, and Partner offerings. He will also identify key industry trends, standards, performance indicators that are applicable to the solution proposed and work with Jakeel Team to develop high level implementation roadmaps and project estimates to describe how customers can transition to proposed solutions.


• Project Development: Mr. Butts will assist clients and project teams to better leverage our expertise for timely development and delivery of customer projects. He will meet customers where they are in the planning for new technologies and upgrades to advise them of strategic solutions to maintain their secure flow of mission critical applications and services.


• Internal/External Support: Mr. Butts keeps abreast of emerging technologies and current industry trends to ensure that Jakeel will provide best of breed technologies and services to meet customer requirements. He will interact with various groups and partners for knowledge sharing in developing and maintaining best practices for the successful deployment of technologies, products, and applications. Mr. Butts also conducts learning session and advise Jakeel personnel on recommendation of best practices. He will act as a mentor to members of our technical team and other professional services personnel. He will take leadership role in promoting new industry solutions and configurations at knowledge sharing events and user conferences.


• Partner Support: He has been instrumental in developing and bring on new Partnerships to the Jakeel offering. Therefore, increasing the value propositioning of Jakeel solutions and services. He will be responsible for working with customers on the interoperability on of technology applications and solutions to meet the long and short-term goals of our customers business.

Mr. Butts joins us with over 28 years of diverse experience in working at Navy support Labs, Martin Marietta Aero & Naval Systems, Voice of America, legacy MCI and most recently Siemens Communications where he sold customers enterprise business continuity solutions to support unified communications, network security, identity management solutions and migration to 10GB infrastructures over SONET and other fiber platforms. Mr. Butts holds a Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering from North Carolina A&T State University and Masters of Science in Telecommunications Management from University of Maryland University College. He also holds or has held security clearance along with various vendor neutral and specific certifications.
